Foxconn and FIH Mobile chiefs meet Telangana CM

The visit comes a day ahead of formal launch of govt's new industrial policy featuring faster clearances among other incentives

Foxconn Technology Group president Calvin Chin and FIH Mobile Limited chairman Vincent Whtong today met Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Their visit comes a day ahead of the formal launch of the government’s new industrial policy featuring faster clearances among other incentives.

The two companies, which are based out of Taiwan and China, are manufacturing services providers to some of the premier global computer and mobile phone brands such as Apple. According to the chief minister’s office, the two companies have expressed their interest to set up manufacturing operations in Hyderabad.

Rao informed them the government was going to facilitate a mobile phone manufacturing hub in the city as several other mobile phone makers have also come forward to set up their units here.

Foxconn Technology Group offers joint-design, joint-development, manufacturing, assembly and after-sales services to global computer, communication and consumer-electronics companies. FIH Mobile too has a similar profile.
