Groupe Cahors, France based manufacturing company has set up a manufacturing facility for their Indian group companies – Transfix India and Tek Components, in Ranjangaon MIDC, Pune. It will manufacture connectors and associated equipment for telecom networks.
The company has invested Rs 35 crore to construct the factory in Ranjangaon, which brings the total investment by the group in India to Rs 60 crore. Transfix manufactures a wide range of oil-immersed transformers with power ratings between 50 and 2500 kVA up to 33kV.
Speaking at the press conference, Michel Hibon, chairman and CEO of Groupe Cahors said, "We believe that this strategic investment will enhance Groupe Cahors portfolio globally and aggressively build up and consolidate the Group’s growth plans in India. We have been able to successfully combine technical expertise with the global supply chain capabilities of the Groupe Cahors to offer premium products to our customers. Our new facility is a testament to Groupe Cahors commitment in expanding its presence in India."

High growth and development of the power sector in India is stimulating the demand for transformers. The country has witnessed an annual growth of 15% for this type of transformers. Transfix is committed to producing high quality and efficient products designed using hermetically sealed technology that have been developed by the group over the past 30 years".
TEK Components, on Tuesday a key supplier to BSNL, exports to more than 25 countries and supplies many of the leading telecom operators. Groupe Cahors is in the process of consolidating its worldwide telecom activities and TEK Components will play a key part in this strategy.
