Marketing and consultancy major Franchise India Holding (FIHL) is set to enter lifestyle and health-care sector with plans to set up 75 spas over the next five years in the country.

The company, which has entered into a collaboration with Thailand-based Spa Siam for the purpose, will invest Rs 25 crore for its foray into the segment.

"We plan to invest Rs 25 crore in the next five years in setting up 75 retail and institutional spas to capture a large chunk of the Rs 1,000 crore spa health-care business in the country," FIHL President Gaurav Marya said.

Under its collaboration with the Thai firm, FHIL would be entitled to use Spa Siam's brand in India.

"At some stage we might opt for a joint venture. However, we have not worked out those details so far," Marya said.

The partners could also look for franchising their operations as they look to expand their spa centres, he added.

Spa Siam operates eight premium segment spas in Thailand, Republic of Ireland, Vietnam, Kenya and Norway and has a specialised spa training school in Thailand.

The collaboration would involve FIHL providing local expertise, including consultancy, local operation support, retail distribution base and support structure, while Spa Siam would manage the spas with its own team of staff brought from Thailand besides handling the core operation.
