Fraud targeting Saudi Aramco, ONGC foiled

The two companies continued their business work as normal and they have enhanced protection measures

An attempted fraud that targeted a money transfer between India's Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) and Saudi Aramco's trading unit has been foiled, the Saudi Arabian oil giant has said.

"The aborted attempt did not financially affect any of the two companies or their commercial relations," Aramco said in a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency yesterday.

It noted that the two companies continue their business work as normal and they have enhanced protection measures for their systems information technology.

According to reports, the scammers pretending to work for the ONGC were involved in the attempted fraud.
