When the festive season is around can discounts and freebies be far behind? Consumer durables firms, including Panasonic, Videocon and Samsung are going all out to cash in on the festivities, expecting as much as 70 per cent jump in sales over the last year.
"The customer sentiments are upbeat and we will encash it with incredible offers like extended 3 years warranty, assured gift on every purchase. We foresee 70 per cent growth in the sales volumes this festive season," Panasonic India Director Marketing Manish Sharma said.
Most of the companies are giving away free gifts, special discounts and have come up with several marketing initiatives to attract customers during the season.
Domestic consumer durables player Videocon has launched interest-free finance scheme for buying its products apart from giving away special offers and freebies.
"Through this promotion, the company is looking at a 70 per cent sales growth over the same period last year," Videocon Group Chief Marketing Officer (Consumer Electronics and Home Appliances Business) Jaideep Rathore said.
It is also giving away gifts like Videocon d2h set top Box with free one month subscription on purchase of Videocon LCDs, LEDs, flat panel TV range. Besides, it is also providing one-on-one service support to customers especially in remote areas in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra.
"We are looking at 200 per cent sales growth in hi-end product categories like LCDs, LEDs, Satellite LCDs, Fully automatic washing machines," he said.

Samsung, on the other hand, has launched several new products recently during the festive season and is expecting around 100 per cent sales in flat panel TVs during the period.
The company had extended some value added offers its flat panel TVs, including 3D TVs that was aimed at achieving over 100 per cent sales in Flat Panel TVs during Durga Puja this year.
The company is also launching 3D LED TV solution package, where it is offering customers items like BD player, 3D glasses and a 3D movie for every purchase of Samsung 46" TV and above 3D LED or 3D LCD TV.
Samsung has also launched zero per cent interest and zero verification charges on purchase of any audio visual product.
Besides, Haier is gearing up to launch a range of LCD/LED TVs, refrigerators, washing machines.
"We are confident of reinforcing our market position and are expecting a growth of 200 per cent as compare to last year during this festival period," Eric Braganza President Haier Appliances India said.
