The new soltuion has various capabilities including built-in phone and email, lead scoring, user behaviour tracking, visual sales pipeline, management of various information including contact, lead, deal and account and provisions to create reports, among others. Efforts so far to integrate all the products into a CRM tool was not effective, which led the company to create its own CRM tool, said Girish Mathrubootham, founder and CEO of Freshdesk.
"As a fast growing SaaS business, we needed a solution that empo wered our sales team with context based on user activity, prioritized leads based on engagement, and enhanced sales rep productivity. Sick of cobbling together a system that had already cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, we decided to build Freshsales," he said. Primaseller, a Point of Sales and B2B software firm is the first customer for the new solution.
Freshdesk, with its US headquarters in California, is backed by investors such as Tiger Global Management, Accel Partners, and Google Capital. The investors together invested around $94 million so far in the start up company. The company has over 80,000 customers around the world including 3M, Honda, Bridgestone, Hugo Boss, University of Pennsylvania, Toshiba and Cisco.
The new product is added to its existing portfolio which has its flagship product Freshdesk - a cloudbased software solution that allows organizations to support customers through email, phone, websites, forums, and social media; Freshservice, a cloudbased service desk and IT service management solution; and Hotline.io, an inapp support and engagement platform for mobilefirst businesses.
