Future Generali targets 1 lakh rural households via micro-insurance

Tied up with Zoom Developers to distribute its micro insurance products

Future Generali India Insurance, the Insurance joint venture between Future Group and Generali of Italy, has tied up with Zoom Developers, a Service Centre Agency (SCA) to distribute its micro-insurance products at an affordable cost through over 1,000 Common Service Centers (CSCs) delivery outlets of Kangra, Una and Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh.

Ajay Verma, Head of Rural Business, Future Generali India Insurance said, “Future Generali targets to reach 1 lakh households through this initiative. We may also consider extending the services from micro insurance products to other rural products we offer like Janata Personal Accident or Shop insurance, basis the response received.”

As per the National e-Governance Plan of the government, CSCs are proposed delivery points for government, private and social sector services to rural citizens under PPP model. This will facilitate in making all Government Services accessible to citizens in their localities. The objective is to integrate private sector goals with government's social objectives, into a sustainable business model.

Veerendra Sharma, VP of Zoom Developers mentioned that his team has designed a customised web portal for VLEs and Future Generali which can be used for efficient policy sales transaction.
