Kishore Biyani-led Future Group plans to expand its FMCG, consumer durables, apparels and electronics line of businesses and is aiming to clock a revenue of Rs 10,000 crore by 2012.

"We already have some FMCG products in the market like Tasty Treat, Care Mate, Fresh n Pure and a few others that are retailed through our own outlets. We intend to create Indian brands in FMCG, household consumer durables, electronics and apparels," Future Group Founder and CEO Kishore Biyani told reporters here today.

The company was aiming at a revenue of Rs 10,000 crore by 2012 from this venture, he said.

"The cost of raw materials is low and we thought this is the right time to enter this business," he said.

The retail major would come up with products right from soaps, detergents and shampoos to beauty and health products. Besides, the group plans to bring in household consumer durables, electronics and apparels.

Currently, the multi-billion Indian FMCG market was dominated by multinational brands but there were opportunities to build domestic brands, Biyani said.

"Indian companies can beat multinationals. There are opportunities to build brands by coming up with a wide range of products for consumers... We will introduce products at a lower price... The consumers can expect products at a lower price," Biyani said.
