Gail India today reported a 42.08% decrease in net profit at Rs 448.40 crore for the second quarter ended September 2006 as against Rs 774.18 crore for Q2FY06. According to the release issued by the company to the BSE, total income, however, grew by 6.66% at Rs 4525.67 crore as compared to Rs 4243.08 crore in Q2FY06.
