Gamesa Wind Turbines Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa Corporación Tecnológica S A, has signed an agreement with the Sri Lanka-based Pawan Danavi Pvt Ltd for supply of 12 wind turbines to the latter’s wind farm project.
Gamesa expects to complete delivery of the order for the new wind farm project, with 10.2 Mega Watt (Mw) installed capacity, in the third quarter of the present fiscal, said Ramesh Kymal, chairman and managing director of Gamesa India.
This is the second order we are getting from Sri Lanka and with completion of this, we will be the largest player in the segment, he said. It is also in talks with a few players in the segment in Sri Lanka and Maldives, but nothing has been finalised, said Kymal. The company has delivered 25 wind generators in an earlier order to Sri Lanka and with completion of the project, it would have an installed capacity of 30.2 MW by end of the year, according to a company announcement.
Pawan Danavi Pvt Ltd is a subsidiary of Sri Lanka-based engineering firm in power sector - LTL Holdings (Pvt) Limited. Pawan Danavi is focused on wind power generation.
