Shipping services firm Garware Offshore Services today said it has placed an order worth $55 million (nearly Rs 270 crore) with Havyard Leirvik AS for supplying a vessel.
The vessel of 4,500 dead weight tonne (DWT) would have diesel electric propulsion, offering potential customers significant savings in fuel consumption, Garware Offshore said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The approximate cost of the vessel is $55 million (nearly 270 crore) and would be delivered in the last quarter of calendar year 2010. Besides, the vessel would also have an optional moon pool, that are used in underwater habitats, the filing added.
The Havyard Group is a Norway-based fully-integrated shipbuilding enterprise.
