Entertainment company Photon Kathaas Productions (PKP), floated by noted Tamil film director Gautham Vasudev Menon, was today officially listed in the London Stock Exchange.
"Today, I am happy and privileged to announce that Photon Kathaas Productions has been listed on the AIM market in London. This makes us the first publicly traded South-India based film production company on an international stock exchange," Menon said in a statement.
"Our aim is to create an international platform for South Indian cinema," he said.
Double Oscar winning music composer A R Rahman has been appointed as advisor of the board, he said.
IIT and IIM Graduate Venkat Somasundaram will be the CEO of the company as also co-promoter, along with Reshma Ghatala.
According to London Stock Exchange, PKP aims to raise funds to the tune of $2.4 million. Menon holds 22.7 per cent stake in the firm, while Rahman holds 3 per cent, Venkat Somasundaram and Reshma Ghatala hold 22.7 per cent stake each, respectively.

Menon said he would be directing films exclusively for PKP and had also roped in other directors to make films under this banner.
With this production firm, "I look forward to continuing my successful association with accomplished technicians such as Rajeevan, Anthony, Nalini Sriram, Thamarai and Manoj Paramahamsa", he said.
"PKP is my humble tribute to the South Indian film industry, as I hope it paves the way for a whole new generation of talent, he added.
The company would operate as a South Indian motion picture company, producing films predominantly in the South Indian languages of Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
