GCMMF eyes Rs 30k crore turnover by FY 2020

Buoyed by the 32 per cent growth in its turnover for fiscal 2013-14 at Rs 18150 crore, Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF), popularly known as AMUL, has planned to achieve Rs 30,000 crore turnover by 2019-20.

The apex body of dairy co-operatives in Gujarat has achieved a 32 per cent growth in sales turnover as compared to Rs 13,750 crore in previous fiscal. What's more, according to GCMMF, this is the highest ever rate of growth registered for the federation.

Moreover, the projected unduplicated group turnover of member unions of GCMMF has crossed Rs. 26,000 crores which is also higher by 37% compare to last financial year.

"We have achieved volume sales growth in all product categories. Pouch milk which contributes around 45 per cent of sales turnover has shown volume growth in double digit. GCMMF has exported milk and milk product worth Rs 525 crores during 2013-14 as against Rs 140 crores during 2012-13," said RS Sodhi, managing director of GCMMF.

GCMMF has been achieving a value growth of more than 20% since last five years because of higher milk procurement, continuous expansion in terms of adding new markets and launching of new products.

GCMMF has started six new branches in India in 2013-14 to market milk and milk products in an efficient way.

Dudhsagar Dairy achieves turnover of Rs 4254.29 crores in 2013-14
Mehsana District Cooperative Milk Producers' Union Ltd (Dudhsagar Dairy), one of the 18 member unions in Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets its products under brand 'AMUL', achieved a turnover of Rs 4,254.29 crores in the financial year 2013-14, registering a growth of 25 per cent over the previous year, said a statement issued by the dairy on Tuesday.
