Genpact extends support to Indian women Olympians

Ties up with Olympic Gold Quest, a not-for-profit that helps athletes gear up and appear in Olympics

Information technology major Genpact will support women from India who are preparing for the 2016 Olympic Games. The firm has tied up with the Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ), a not-for-profit foundation that helps athletes gear up and appear in Olympics.

Co-founded by sportsmen Geet Sethi and Prakash Padukone, OGQ, in the past, had supported four medalists from India — Vijay Kumar, Gagan Narang, Saina Nehwal and Mary Kom — at the 2012 Olympics.

“We are confident that with Genpact’s support, we will be able to provide full support to many such athletes and realise the common goal of creating women leaders,” says Geet Sethi, director, OGQ. The foundation provides for required training on the basis of potential in winning medals.

Genpact has signed a memorandum of understanding with OGQ on Thursday. It will be supporting women athletes, who will be competing for pole positions in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil during August this year.

The initiative is a part of Genpact’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), aimed at driving women in leadership.
