Geometric Software Solutions Company has reported a 46.53 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 5.07 crore for the quarter ended june 30, 2005 compared with Rs 3.46 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Total income has increased 40.49 per cent to Rs 31.64 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 from Rs 22.52 crore in the year ago period, the company informed the BSE.
 
GFCL back in the black
 
Godavari Fertilizers and Chemicals has reported a net profit of Rs 94 lakh during the quarter ended June 2005, compared with a loss of Rs 10.43 crore in the same period last year.
 
The turnover, however, saw a marginal reduction to Rs 149 crore, against Rs 153 crore in the first quarter of last financial year, a press release said here.
 
"The company was able to achieve better results through improvements made in operational efficiency and effective cost reduction in manufacturing, distribution and finance charges," the release said.
 
GHCL Q1 net up 190%
 
Gujarat Heavy Chemicals (GHCL) has posted a net profit of Rs 21.47 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, a growth of 190 per cent compared with the year-ago period.
 
The company registered gross sales worth Rs 158.50 crore during the quarter, a growth of 16 per cent compared with the same quarter in the previous year.
 
Profit from operations grew at 79 per cent to Rs 43.18. Earnings per share is up by 189 per cent to Rs 2.26.
 
Gateway net up 205%
 
Port-based logistics facilitator Gateway Distriparks Ltd has reported a net profit of Rs 17.14 crore for the quarter ended June 30 2005, up 205 per cent from Rs 5.60 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year.
 
The company's sales for the quarter ended June 2005 is at Rs 34.66 crore, up 93 per cent from Rs 17.95 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
 
The company has declared a second and final dividend of 10 per cent amounting to Rs. 750 lakh, taking the total dividend for the year ended March 31, 2005 to 20 per cent.
 
Havell's net up 134%
 
Havell's India, the power distribution equipment company, said it has posted a whopping 134.58 per cent net profit at Rs 12.48 crore during April-June 2005 against Rs 5.32 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
 
It has registered a 66.61 per cent increase in net sales at Rs 193.34 crore during the review period against Rs 116.04 crore in first quarter last year, a company release said.
 
Ingersoll-Rand net up
 
Ingersoll-Rand (India) has reported a 3.69 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 7.29 crore for the quarter ended June 30,2005 compared with Rs 7.03 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.
 
Total income has increased 15.76 per cent to Rs 119.53 crore for the first quarter from Rs 103.25 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the BSE.
