The company inaugurated its Mumbai showroom, touted as Asia's largest kitchens showroom, displaying 14 varieties of functional kitchens. |

Speaking at the inauguration, Jochen Finkemeier managing director, Hacker said, "During my India visit in 2002 I realised that India is a promising destination for modular kitchens market. Along with individual demands, the booming infrastructure sector could drive demand for the modular kitchens in India." |

With the current turnover of Euro 240 million, Hacker boasts of offering 163 different textures, with a sample size of 8 X 10 feet priced at Rs 2.5 lakh. |

Mukesh Sharma, chairman and managing director, Kanu Kitchen Kulture said, "Higher disposable income and changing lifestyle has led to a rising demand for modular kitchens in India. It will be a creditable if we could tap at least 5 per cent of this emerging market with huge growth potential. In 2 years we have installed more than 250 individual kitchens and have got an encouraging response from the construction projects." |

Apart from opening more outlets the company is looking at alliances with construction projects. For instance it has a tie up with Central Park 2 in Gurgaon while talks are on with a couple of projects in Mumbai. |

In 204 Hacker partnered with Kanu Kitchen Kulture and opened it's first showroom in Delhi. This year, Kanu Kitchen Kulture is optimistic of registering a turnover of Rs 4 crore with plans to open showrooms in Bangalore and Ludhiana in the next year. |

In India Siemens Home Appliances has entered a preferential alliance with Hacker to supply home appliances to their kitchen solutions. |

Forty two per cent of Hacker's modular kitchen business constitutes of exports while 58 per cent is in Germany. It exports to 39 countries apart from the European Union and plans to extend its presence to London, Milano, Barcelona amongst others. |
