GHCL, part of the Dalmia group, has posted a profit after tax of Rs 31.07 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006, up 17 per cent compared with Rs 26.55 crore recorded in the year-ago period. |
Income from operations for the quarter stood at Rs 217.05 crore, registering a 28.26 per cent growth over Rs 169.22 crore posted by the firm in the corresponding quarter in 2005, GHCL said in a statement here. |
"We have successfully integrated our Indian and foreign operations both in the soda ash and textiles business. With the ramping up of Vapi's operations, we expect to consolidate our textiles business and improve margins in the future," Chairman Sanjay Dalmia said. |
The textiles division revenues during the quarter accounted for 26.6 per cent of the total business, reporting a growth of 29 per cent on a year-on-year basis, the company said. |
IBP back in the black |
Petro-products marketing company IBP, owned by IOC, has posted a profit of Rs 732.36 crore during the quarter ended December against a loss of Rs 96.33 crore in the same quarter last year. |
Total income was up 37.7 per cent at Rs 5,454.93 crore during the quarter against Rs 3,961.25 crore in the same quarter last year. IOC holds a 53.58 per cent stake in the company. |
Indraprastha Gas net up 21% |
Indraprastha Gas, which is supplying compressed and piped natural gas for Delhi and its outskirts, has posted 21 per cent jump in the net profit at Rs 35.48 crore for the quarter ended December 31 against Rs 29.33 crore in the same quarter last year. |
Total income during the period was up 18 per cent at Rs 162.27 crore compared with Rs 137.78 crore in the same period last year. The promoters of the company include GAIL and Bharat Petroleum. |
