Car maker General Motors (GM) India today said its sales climbed 17.67 per cent to 8,376 units in November this year compared to 7,118 units in the same month last year.

"Introduction of best-in-segment cars from the 300 series, increase in customer outreach through distribution network and our unique value proposition like Chevrolet Cashless Ownership offer are the factors that have led to impressive sales," GM India Vice President P Balendran said in a statement.

For the 11-month period ended November this year, the company has crossed one lakh units mark registering an increase of over 63 per cent, as against the same period last year.

The company sold 2,786 units of the hatchback Spark, 617 units of the sedan Cruze and 2,547 units of the latest compact car Beat in the reporting month, it added.

It also sold 291 units of premium hatchback Aveo U-Va, 297 units of the entry-level sedan Aveo, 262 units of the mid-sized sedan Optra, 1,476 units of the multi-utility vehicle Tavera and 100 units of the SUV Captiva.

The company had earlier ramped up production by adding the second shifts at Halol and Talegaon plants to meet the increased demand of its products.

GM India is also rapidly expanding sales and service network to support the increasing market demand of its cars, the statement added.
