GNFC, GMDC, GIPCL & Harrisons Malayalam results

Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers Company (GNFC) has recorded 219 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 56.02 crore for the quarter ended December 2004 compared with Rs 17.57 crore in the same quarter of previous year.
 
The company's total income rose 70 per cent at Rs 546.5 crore in the same quarter under review compared with Rs 321.11 crore in the quarter ended December 2003.
 
P K Laheri, chairman of GNFC and chief secretary government of Gujarat said, "GNFC has conceived capital outlays for revamps of exisiting plants as well as for expanding some of the current capacities. some of them are under implementation and others are under consideration. These plans, as and when implemented, envisage an aggregate outlay of more than Rs 1,700 crore which would boost the turnover and earnings of the company in due course."
 
GMDC net up 16% to Rs 32.39 cr
 
Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC), a state-owned mining company of Gujarat, has recorded 15.72 per cent jump in its net profit at Rs 32.39 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2004 compared with Rs 27.99 crore in the same quarter of previous year.
 
The company's sales income grew 35.54 per cent at Rs 97.78 crore in the quarter under review compared with Rs 72.14 crore in the same period of previous year.
 
GIPCL net up 213% to Rs 23.26 cr
 
Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL), engaged in the business of power generation having captive lignite and limestone mines, has recorded a jump of 213 per cent in its net profit to Rs 23.26 crore in the quarter ended December 2004 compared with Rs 7.43 crore in the same quarter of previous year.
 
The company's sales of electrical energy during the quarter under review was lower at Rs 180.13 crore compared with Rs 193.36 crore in the same quarter of previous year.
 
The company's other income rose substantially to Rs 13.79 crore compared with Rs 7.32 crore in the same quarter of previous year. The company has informed tat the other income for the current quarter includes financial restructuring cost reimbursement of Rs 7.32 crore from customer.
 
Harrisons Malayalam net up 69% to Rs 7.7 cr
 
Harrisons Malayalam has reported a 69.45 per cent rise in net profit to Rs 7.71 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2004 against Rs 4.55 crore in the year-ago period. Net sales rose 2.65 per cent from Rs 37.71 crore in the year-ago period to Rs 38.71 crore for the quarter ended December 2004.
