Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilisers Company (GNFC) today reported a net profit of Rs 136.89 crores for the quarter ended March 31, 2011, as against a net loss of Rs 38.26 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total net sales in the fourth quarter rose by 66% to Rs 842.34 crore as compared to Rs 506.60 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The company has also recommended a dividend of Rs 3.25 per equity share of Rs 10 each for the year ended March 31, 2011.
GNFC is a joint sector enterprise promoted by the Government of Gujarat and the Gujarat State Fertiliser Company (GSFC).
Apart from fertilisers, it has ventured into chemicals, Petrochemicals, energy, electronics, telecommunications and information technology.
