This is the latest one from GoAir, the Mumbai based low cost carrier and seems to be a clincher. |
Termed as the GoFlexi Fare bundle, the booking plan allows a passenger traveling on the airline to make unlimited changes in his travel itinerary without the levy of rescheduling charges and allowing passengers to reschedule travel plans up to two hours prior to the departure - a flexibility no low cost carrier had offered so far. |
And the buck does not stop there. The smart fare airline, as GoAir calls itself, will also allow passengers the flexibility to change the date of travel and re-book tickets free of cost, with cancellation charges slashed to Rs 200 from the earlier Rs 750, and a good Rs 550 lower than the other competitor low cost carriers like SpiceJet and IndiGo. |
The fares will be available on all routes and for all the 11 destinations the airline flies to. The airline expects to the GoFlexi Fares to contribute 10 per cent revenue growth during the current year. |
GoAir terms the offer as part of the marketing strategy to offer passengers a smart travel experience based on convenience of schedule at unique price points. |
Low cost carriers definitely say they will take a look at the plan and make note of it. But as far as the full schedule carriers are concerned, for them, GoAir, with a relatively smaller market share does not offer competition as yet. |
"If it was SpiceJet or IndiGo we would have been a little bothered but GoAir with a 4.2 per cent market share coming up with such a plan is least of our worry," said an executive of a full schedule carrier. |
