FMCG company Godrej Industries today entered into partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) for a Mega Global Initiative titled "Ten Great Ideas to change the world in the next 50 years".
Godrej will award prizes worth Rs 50 lakh for 10 best ideas and help convert ideas to reality and the competition is open for world-wide participation up to May 30, IIT-B Director Devang Khakhar told reporters here.
IIT launched the initiative last year mainly for IIT faculty, students and staff and has received great support and enthusiasm not only from IIT, Bombay but other IIT members and associates.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of Godrej Industries Adi Godrej said, "Godrej is happy to partner with this unique project which can bring positive change for the people of India."
"India needs to leverage science and technology to solve problems and the Indian potential is tremendous and it is time to grab the potential," Godrej said.
For this global competition, there is no age specification and will be judged purely on originality, novelty and feasibility with strong environmental impact and broad areas of science and technology.
