Goodhealth Herbal Pvt Ltd, promoted by noted industrialist Bhaskar Sen, has adopted a new distribution and marketing model involving unemployed youth of the state.

According to the plan, the company would induct these people who have a better understanding and feel of the area they live in.

The company will provide them with recommendation letter to get collateral free loan from bank and financial institution. The loan would be used to procure product from the newly born company.

"We have already done that in south 24 Pargana district. We will take help from Zilla Parishad and Gram Panchayat to identify these youth. They would be able to sell new product like ours to local retailer who otherwise might have turned down our product. We intend to employ 2,000 people by this year," Sen said in a press meet on Thursday.

This would manage the collection problem and faster penetration in the market. "This will also help in generating employment in the state," Sen added.

The company has invested Rs 3 crore to build a state-of-the-art plant in Sikkim. It has come out with three products, shampoo, moisturizer and head and body shampoo with the company claiming that last item being introduced for the first time by an Indian company.

Going forward, the company intends to come out with fairness cream, liquid soap, handwash. Moreover, it has a pipeline of seven more products which would be introduced after the initial phase of consolidation.

At the first phase, the company is concentrating on the West Bengal, Sikkim and Orissa market.

It has targeted sale of Rs 5 crore for the first year. It intends to offer products at 35 per cent discount to the unemployed youth. The target for the company is mainly semi-urban and rural markets.
