Available across major cities in India, users will be able to see the estimated time of arrival (ETA) of cabs and fares, provided they have the apps from either Ola or Uber or both installed on their devices. Customers will also be able to select from the various services both providers offer which will directly take them to the app.
The feature will not only make it easy for users to compare routes, but also fares on each platform. In turn, the integration could lead to more bookings for cab aggregators. The company did not mention if it would increase the number of categories listed or add more aggregators in the future.
The feature is being rolled out in the latest version of the Google Maps app for Android and will make its way to iOS devices soon.
