Gopala Polyplast Ltd is putting up a one MW natural gas based captive power plant at its production facility in Santej, near Ahmedabad. The Mumbai based company is also expanding its present capacity of woven sacks division by 25 per cent with an investment of Rs 2.50 crore. |
The company is one of the major supplier of labels and woven sacks to textile and cement industry respectively. Gopal Polyplast has chalked out expansion plans in view of improving scenario in the sectors, it is dealing with. The company had recently augmented its label division following abolition of quota system. |

Gopal Polyplast has entered into an agreement with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd for gas supply. |

"The supplier has already laid the pipe network and gas supply will be started in first week of September. We aim to make our power plant operational from September this year, which is going to be commissioned at the cost of Rs 2.90 crore. The company expects to save over Rs 150 lakh per annum on power cost," said Narendra Dhupar, general manager (finance), Gopal Polyplast. The company is availing the plant from GE-Jenbacher, Austria. |

The company is enhancing its production facility of woven sacks from 10,000 mt per annum to 12,500 mt per annum by next October. |

"The growth of cement industry has resulted into rise in demand of bags. We are expanding our capacity in existing facility only to bring our overheads down. We are raising funds from internal accruals and suppliers' credit," said Dhupar. |
