Natural gas company Great Eastern Energy today said it has entered into a long-term gas sales agreement with Bengal-based MacKeil Ispat and Forging.
Under the agreement, Great Eastern would supply 1.57 MMSCFD of gas to MacKeil Ispat. The sale would commence on or before June 30 and go on for 25 years, Great Eastern said in a statement.
"The signing of this agreement also reflects the progress being made in the laying of Great Eastern's third major distribution pipeline," Great Eastern President and COO Prashant Modi said.
The gas would initially be delivered in cascades but the company intends to supply it through its pipeline to Durgapur once it has been completed later this year, it said.
