GSFC bags energy conservation award

State-owned Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals Limited (GSFC) has been awarded certificate of merit for national energy conservation in fertilizer sector for its contribution in the field of energy conservation.

This is the third consecutive year in which GSFC has been selected for this award. In the year 2008-09, GSFC received the first prize whereas certificate of merit was given in the year 2009-10 and 2010-11 for the company's contribution in the field of energy saving.

To have energy conservation through renewable energy, GSFC has installed different wind mill stations totalling 123 MW capacity in Kutch and Saurashtra region.

The Ministry of Power, Government of India has launched a scheme to give national recognition through awards to industrial units contributing in the field of energy conservation through systematic and unrelenting efforts with an aim to have proper and effective utilisation of energy.
