Gujarat State Fertiliser and Chemicals Ltd today reported five-fold jump in net profit to Rs 205.14 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011.
Net profits in the year-ago period stood at Rs 36.82 crore, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The total net sales in the fourth quarter rose by 43% to Rs 1,122.49 crore compared to Rs 782.55 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The company has also recommended a dividend of Rs 7 per equity share of Rs 10 each, it said in another filing.
GSFC said that it commissioned a 33 mega watt (MW) power project during the March 2011 quarter, taking the total wind power projects commissioned during the year to 51 MW.
The company manufactures Urea, DAP, NPK complexes among other fertilisers and bio-fertilisers. It has also ventured into power generation.
