GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare (GSKCH) today reported net profit of Rs 33.6 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2009, registering an increase of 3.3 per cent over the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
The company had reported net profit of Rs 32.5 crore for the same quarter last fiscal, GSKCH said in a statement.
During the quarter under consideration, net sales rose 26 per cent to Rs 418.12 crore compared to Rs 331.55 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
For the financial year ended on December 31, 2009, it reported a profit after tax of Rs 232.7 crore compared to Rs 188.33 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.
During the year 2009, its total income rose to Rs 1,921 crore, registering a growth of 24.6 per cent over 2008.
The company board also recommended a final dividend of Rs 18 per equity share of Rs 10 each.
"2009 has been an extremely exciting year for GSKCH with accelerated growth, driven by customer centric innovation in existing and new product categories," GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Managing Director Zubair Ahmed said.
