The growth in net sales (net of excise and excluding the fine chemicals business) was 11.2 per cent during the quarter ended June 30, 2008. The growth in gross sales (excluding the fine chemicals business) during the first quarter of FY09 was impacted due to lower selling prices as a result of the excise benefit passed on to the consumer, said the company in a release to the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
