Gujarat government-promoted, Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (GSPL) has registered a net profit of Rs 137.36 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2011 showing a rise of over 30 per cent over Rs 105.09 crore in the corresponding period last year.
In a statement issued after the company's board meeting held on Tuesday, the company informed that the total income for the quarter in consideration increased from Rs 257.49 crore reported in June 2010 to Rs 295.45 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2011.
The board of directors of the company approved the allotment of 53,762 equity shares under employees stock option scheme - 2005 (ESOP - 2005) consequent to which the paid up share capital of the company has increased from Rs 562.61 crore to Rs 562.66 crore, the company statement said.
