Gujarat accounts for 10% of total sales of Mahindra's SUVs

With the likes of Scorpio, XUV 500 and the newly refurbished Xylo in demand in Gujarat, the state accounts roughly 10 per cent for Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), India's leading sports utility vehicle (SUV) manufacturer.

For instance, in the second phase of its launch, XUV 500 witnessed around 3,000 units being sold in Gujarat, about 12 per cent of total 25,000 nationally. Add to that, the company also saw 6,000 Xylos being sold in the state in the last three years.

Moving forward, the company on Saturday unveiled the latest version of Xylo in Gujarat.

"The stylish new XYLO further enhances value to customer by being more stylish, premium, tech packed and comfortable. The Stylish New Xylo will heighten its appeal not only amongst its core customers but also amongst the people looking at options amongst sedans, multi purpose vehicles (MPVs) and SUVs alike. The new features combined with the attractive price of the new Xylo will make it a true value proposition," said Jacob Varghese, senior general manager – sales (west zone), automotive division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd while announcing the launch of the new version of Xylo in Gujarat.

The new version Mahindra's Xylo sports 50 new changes and features including five variants powered by three distinct engine options such as 120 BHP and m Hawk engine.

The new Xylo, available in five variants – D2, D4, E4, E8 and E9 at an ex-showroom price of Rs 7.37 lakhs, in six colour options including Diamond White, Fiery Black, Toreador Red, Java Brown, Mist Silver and Rocky Beige.

Meanwhile, bookings for the new Xylo will begin in next couple of weeks in Gujarat, said Varghese.
