Gujarat Ambuja Exports commences production at Karnataka plant

Commercial production of new maize processing, derivatives and other value added products initiated

Ahmedabad-based Gujarat Ambuja Exports Ltd (GAEL) has successfully commenced the commercial production of new maize processing, derivatives and other value added products processing at its Haveri plant in Karnataka.

The said products will be produced and processed at a capacity of 750 tonne per day (TPD), the company informed Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on Tuesday. Earlier in the month of December 2012, the company had started trial run production at the unit before commencing commercial production in the last week of the said month.

"The company has successfully commenced the commercial production of its 750 TPD new maize processing, derivatives and other value added products processing Unit in the Haveri District in the State of Karnataka in the last week of December, 2012," GAEL's announcement on BSE stated.

The new production and processing plant of GAEL is part of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) that the company had signed with the state government of Karnataka during the previous two-day Vibrant Gujarat Summit in January 2011.

As part of its participation in the two-day Vibrant Gujarat 2011 Summit, the state government of Karnataka had been able to attract investment worth Rs 22,000 crore.
