Hyderabad-based contract research firm GVK Biosciences today said it has joined hands with US-based worldwide clinical organisation, ResearchPoint Global.
"This partnership enables GVK Bio to participate in global trials while focusing on local investigators, recruitment and leveraging lower local costs," GVK Biosciences President Manni Kantipudi said in a statement.
While both ResearchPoint Global (RPG) and GVK Bio are full service contract research organisations (CROs) offering services independently, together, the partners will offer faster patient recruitment and access to complete suite of functional services including clinical data management, medical writing, and biostatistics, Kantipudi added.
Joining of hands with GVK offers RPG a foothold in the Indian market. RPG's expansion into India offers numerous advantages for running clinical trials, such as a large population, qualified medical personnel, and well-established regulations, the statement said, adding GVK Bio complements RPG's current presence in the US, Europe and Africa.
"RPG is strategically expanding our global footprint with qualified, like-minded CROs who have extensive drug development experience across a broad range of therapeutic areas," RPG Executive Vice-President (Marketing and Business Development) Matt Walker said.
RPG's has a worldwide clinical trials network with 22 regional offices and covering in 65 countries, while GVK Bio offers diverse portfolio of over 100 customers, including pharmaceutical, agri and life-sciences companies.
