Haier India eyes Rs 2,000 cr turnover in 2011

Haier India, a subsidiary of Haier Group, has set the sales target of Rs 2,000 crores in the current calendar year 2011. The company is also expecting to double its market share in the country from the present 5 per cent to 10 per cent in 2011.

Moreover, the company has plans to launch wide range of Laptops ranging from 14 to 22 inches in the country within a month.

Haier India is the major home appliances and consumer electronics brands in the country. The company’s product range includes Haier colour televisions, LED & LCD TVs, refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, freezers for commercial & medical usage and Spa range of water heaters.

“We have set the target of doubling our sales turn over to Rs 2,000 crores in the current calendar year 2011, against Rs 1,000 crores in 2010. We are also launching wide range of laptops ranging from 14 to 22 inches within a month,” said a senior company official.“Presently, we have 5 per cent market share and are expecting 10 per cent of market share by the end of current calendar year 2011,” he added.

“We have just expanded the production capacity of our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Ranjangaon, near Pune, by setting up two assembly lines. Our manufacturing capacity of refrigerators has increased from 4 lakh units to 10 lakh units. We are also planning to start manufacturing Washing Machines at the same facility, shortly,” he said.
