He said that the company was having 7000 milk outlets covering city, urban and semi-urban segments.The retail outlets would be no-frills ones located in the prime habitat of every village where Hatsun aleady has its collection point.
The objective is not only to expand the customer base of the company but also to optimally utilise the existing infrastructure and manpower by virtue of which Hatsun product would be made available to villagers at competitive prices.
The company had already conducted test run in 100 centres in Tamil Nadu.
The company had registered more than 47 per cent growth y-o-y and the turnover of the first nine months in the fiscal 2007-08 had registered Rs 632 crore as against Rs 562 crore achieved in the year 2006-07. The annual sale included exports to 32 countries.
About future plans,he said an investment of Rs 85 crores had already been made to install a milk processing plant at Maranda Halli in Dharmapuri district, to be commissioned hopefully by January 2009.

At present the head count of the company was at 4500 and Dharmapuri unit will hire another 600 employees,he said.
