HCC net dips 3.73% to Rs 43.8 crore

Hindustan Construction Company has reported net profit of Rs 43.80 crore for the quarter ended March 2006, dropping 3.73 per cent over the Rs 45.52 crore reported in the previous corresponding period.
 
The company reported turnover of Rs 768.1 crore for the quarter, 49.86 per cent higher against Rs 512.53 crore last year.
 
For the full year ended March 2006, the company reported net profit of Rs 81.71 crore, growing 10.38 per cent over Rs 74.02 crore last year.
 
Net sales grew 33.59 per cent to Rs 1,986.9 crore from Rs 1,487.3 crore.
 
The company's board of directors has recommended a dividend of Rs 0.70 per equity share at Re 1 each.
 
HCC was awarded 14 new contracts during the year, taking its balance order book position to Rs 9,692 crore, against the corresponding order book position of Rs 5,381crore.
 
Major contracts of the company include Godavari lift irrigation scheme"�phase II, Uri hydroelectric power project"�II lot 1, Chamera hydroelectric power project"�stage III lot 1, Teesta low dam"�stage IV, Mughal Road, and Saudi pier restoration project.
 
The company also successfully completed its maiden GDS and FCCB issue of $100 million each on March 2006.
