Engineering and construction firm Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) today posted net profit of Rs 42.97 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, while the same was at Rs 51.36 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
Due to adoption of new accounting standards, results of the current period are not comparable with figures of the previous period last year, HCC said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The company has recommended a dividend of Rs 0.80 per share for the year.
The construction firm reported total income from operations at Rs 1,091.70 crore for the quarter ended March 31, while the same was at Rs 1,049.86 crore in the same period last fiscal.
For the year ended March 2010, the company posted net profit of Rs 81.43 crore, while the same was at Rs 125.34 crore in the last fiscal.
The company posted total income of Rs 3,862.97 crore for the year ended march 2010, while the same stood at Rs 3,518.31 crore in the previous fiscal.
Shares of HCC were trading at Rs 132.65 on the BSE, up 2.63 per cent from previous close.
