HCC-Samsung wins Rs 866 crore Delhi Metro contract

Four-km tunnel will be built on Janakpuri West-Kalindikunj Metro corridor

Hindustan Construction Company-Samsung joint venture has won the Rs 866 crore contract to design and build four-kilometre long tunnel for the third phase of Delhi Metro.

The tunnel will be built on Janakpuri West-Kalindikunj corridor and is fifth contract bagged by HCC from Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, the company announced today.

The tunnel will be constructed using shield tunnel boring machine and contract also includes construction of three underground metro stations and related architectural works at Janakpuri West, Dabri Mor and Dashrath Puri and interchange facilities between existing elevated metro station and proposed undergound station using cut and cover method.
