India's fourth largest IT service company HCL Technologies said the company has signed a five-year multi- million dollar deal with US-based The Manitowoc Company. As per the deal signed HCL Tech will be the engineering partner for the crane operations in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia/Pacific regions.
For the quarter ended September 30, 2012 the company's America business which contributes to around 55.8% of the overall revenues grew by 13.5%, while the contribution from engineering services was around 8.4%.
Both the companies will also set up a global engineering center in Pune to support Manitowoc's design centers and accelerate its new product development initiatives in emerging regions such as India, China, and Brazil, the company said.
The centre will extend engineering design services support to Manitowoc's key engineering hubs and innovation centers in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Germany, France, and Italy, it said. The service offerings are primarily focused around product design, value engineering, structural engineering, embedded software development, and hardware engineering.
The shares of the company closed at Rs 654.75 on the BSE up 2.14% as against the previous day's close. In intra-day trade HCL Tech's shares hit a 10-years high of Rs 661 each share.
