HCL Technologies posted a net profit of Rs 152.5 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, down by 42 per cent compared to Rs 263 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008.
Total income of the company also fell by 18 per cent to Rs 1,048.90 crore in the quarter under review, against Rs 1,275.58 crore in the corresponding quarter.
HCL said it won 11 contracts worth $250 million and hired 2,298 employees during the third quarter, taking the total headcount to 54,026.
For the nine-month ended March 31, the company posted 1.28 per cent higher net profit at Rs 804.37 crore from Rs 794.19 crore in the corresponding period of last year, said a filing to the stock exchanges.
