In a statement issued from North Carolina HCL Tech said that it will design the online technology hub that will serve as a central gathering place for featured content and discussion between teachers, principals, school staff, students, counselors, college liaisons, district office superintendents and administration staff. NC New Schools will leverage HCL’s services for content creation and management of its collaborative, online community.
Once complete the NC New Schools technology hub will serve as a model for replication across the country and globally, said Shami Khorana, President, HCL America.

The move was as an extension of HCL’s ongoing efforts to help develop the next-generation workforce, Khorana added. “Collaboration with NC News Schools gives schools and businesses the necessary tools and skillsets required to support and encourage students to understand STEM and pursue growth opportunities in these areas,” the company said.
President Obama has launched an “Educate to Innovate” campaign to improve student participation in STEM subjects.
