HCL to invest $1 billion in Tamil Nadu in five years

Company to set up new centres in Madurai and Tiruneveli

HCL group today said it will invest $1 billion in Tamil Nadu over the next five years.

Shiv Nadar, founder of HCL, said that so far the group has invested around Rs 6,000 crore in Tamil Nadu. He was talking at the Global Investors Meet in Chennai.

"We expect to invest $1 billion over the next five years in Tamil Nadu," Nadar said.

The money will be invested to set up new centres at Madurai and Tiruneveli.

The company currently employs around 35,000 people in Tamil Nadu.
