HDFC's net profit for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009 dipped 4.5 per cent to touch Rs 733 crore from Rs 768 crore in the corresponding quarter last financial year. Revenue of the bank at Rs 3,152 crore grew 36 per cent from Rs 2,317 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
For the full year, the banks (consolidated) net profit dipped 14.8 per cent to touch Rs 2,310 crore from Rs 2,713 crore. Revenue was up 36.9 per cent at Rs 11,884 crore compared to Rs 8,679 crore registered last year.
Approvals during the year ended March 31, 2009 aggregated to Rs 49,166 crore as compared to Rs 42,520 crore a year ago--representing an increase of 16 per cent. Disbursements during this period amounted to Rs 39,650 crore as compared to Rs 32,875 crore a year ago--representing a rise of 21 per cent.
The management has recommended a dividend of Rs 30 per share.
