 "Start-up India: Health Tech wins Google award")
Five start-ups shortlisted by Uber have taken part in the Start-up India Event in the Capital on Saturday. The start-ups which are from different sectors including health, social, sports and environment among others pitched in front of a live panel. Health start-up Cardiac Design Labs won over the jurors and won $100,000 prize in Google credits and the People's Choice Award winner was Guru-G a edu-tech firm.
The top three start-ups would also be invited to join the next Google Launchpad Week. “With the Start-up India Stand up India event, the government has shown foresight in providing a platform to start-ups to engage industry leaders and entrepreneurs to drive the spirit of entrepreneurship. We are delighted to carry forward the vision, with a session focusing on early stage start-ups by providing them a platform to present their ideas to the world under our Launchpad Program,” said Rajan Anandan, VP and MD, Google South East Asia & India.
The Launchpad program by Google helps start-ups with technology support, mentorship, online resources and expertise. It also helps start-ups scale up.
The five shortlisted companies are:
Sbalabs: An innovative way to help save the environment by converting air pollution to printing inks, pigments and paints through the use of soot (black carbon). The company claims to be cost effective way of helping lessen pollution.
SlamdunQ: A wearable technology start-up it uses smartwatches and smartbands that would aid athletes and help them improve.

Guru-G: An edu-tech start-up it converts content into adaptive teaching packs. The company claims that the packs help in guiding teachers in different ways. Guru-G adapts to the teacher past behaviour, the mood student is in and follows best practices to help in getting the top outcome.
Reap Benefit: This social start-up hopes help local environmental and solve civic issues (sanitation, waste, air quality and energy) by engaging the youth.
Cardiac Design Labs: A patient care offering MIRCaM (Mobile Intelligent Remote Cardiac Monitor) provides real-time analysis, enhancing patient care and safety. It helps monitor vital parameters with wearable biomedical sensors.
