Hero Honda Motors (HHML), the country's largest two wheeler maker, today reported a 10.23 per cent decline in its total sales in December last year at 2,15,931 units as compared to 2,40,532 units in the same month in 2007.
The company's sales, however, grew by 9.04 per cent to 36,08,220 units in the calendar year 2008 against 33,09,051 units in the year 2007, HHML said in a statement.
"Hero Honda has been driving the growth in the domestic two-wheeler market all through last year and we hope to carry on this leadership performance into the new year as well," Hero Honda Motors Senior Vice-President (Sales and Marketing) Anil Dua said.
"Going forward though, the industry might see further slowdown if the high financing rates and liquidity crunch continue," he added.
