Hero MotoCorp sales up 16% in September

Company sold 4,04,787 units in the same month last year

Country's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp today reported 15.78% rise in total sales at 4,68,670 units for September this year.

In the same month last year, it had sold 4,04,787 units, Hero MotoCorp said in a statement.

Hero MotoCorp Senior Vice President (Marketing and Sales) Anil Dua said: "Our performance in September is a result of the strong retail growth we have reported throughout the first half of this financial year.

"Our 16% growth in despatch sales in September has come on the back of a consistent 7% growth in our retails this year."

In September, the company commenced construction of its Centre of Global Innovation and Research & Design (R&D) at Kukas, on the outskirts of Jaipur in Rajasthan, with an investment of Rs 450 crore.

This facility will be ready for operations by the first quarter of calendar year 2015.
