“In order to maximize productivity, minimize/reduce operational costs so as to remain competitive in the market and for administrative convenience, the management of the Company has decided for centralization of production activity and hence as a policy decision it has decided to shift the entire Jammu unit along with manpower, plant and machineries to its main plant situated in Karan Nagar, Kadi, District Mehsana, Gujarat without adversely affecting the production capacity,” the company’s announcement on BSE stated.
HHLI’s Kadi unit in Gujarat, is among the ten Hitachi air conditioner facilities worldwide with a total installed capacity of 230,000 units (in a single shift) per annum.
Meanwhile, shares of HHLI gained on Tuesday following the announcement. The shares ended with a gain of over 9 per cent at Rs 293.55 on the Bombay Stock Exchange.
