Hi-Tech Elastomers to focus on exports

Ahmedabad-based Hi-Tech Elastomers Ltd (HTEL) aims to grow by over 50 per cent by the end of the financial year 2004-2005.
The only Indian company engaged in the manufacture of rubber fendering systems and navigational aids, HTEL reported a turnover of Rs 7.36 crore in the last financial year.
"We will be doubling our growth in the next two years as we will be exporting our products to different countries," said Vinod A Soni, managing director, Hi-Tech Elastomers.
The company has captured more than 90 per cent of the Indian pneumatic fendering systems market.
"World-wide HTEL ranks second just after Japanese giant Yokohama in terms of quality and is the first in terms of price," said R V Soni, executive director, HTEL. "With the growth in the automobile and transport sector, the rubber market is growing rapidly," he said.
With increasing market demands, HTEL is rapidly expanding, keeping pace with the most modern and state-of-art engineering technologies, processes and manufacturing infrastructure facilities to manufacture wide range of marine rubber and engineering products.
The company at present manufacturers rubber and engineering components like solid and pneumatic rubber fenders, different types of rubber buoys, off-shore rubber products and navigational aids.
HTEL has even carried out many import substitute assignments for marine and oil fields and has developed world's largest size fenders in almost all categories.
The company has the world's largest in-house load deflection testing press, along with research and development facilities.
The products manufactured by the company are in conformity with the international standards, which includes ASTM, JIS, DIN, ISO, and BS, even the products are duly certified by renowned multinational agencies like LRS, IRS, BVIS, SGS, DNV, ABS and other government bodies.
The company offers its services on turnkey basis for, marine fending systems, channel marking buoys, mooring buoys and navigational aids, which includes designing, manufacturing, testing, installation, commission, maintenance and after sales service.
Last year, the company has earned more than Rs 4 crore from exporting to various countries, which includes, UAE, France, Netherlands, Greece, Sweden, Libya apart from US and Europe, through its global network of dealers.
The company was first to introduce the largest fendering systems along with the largest fender manufacturing capacity in India, even manufactured the largest diameter fender, ever in the world.
