High definition LCD: Sharp eyes 10%

Sharp Business Systems (India), which launched the high definition liquid crystal display (LCD) monitors for various industrial sectors, is eyeing a 10 per cent market share in the coming years.
 
The LCD monitors with resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixel has applications in CAD/CAM designing, LCD white board, medical imaging, simulation, process control and stock exchange displays.
 
"Sharp is the first company in India to come out with the highest resolution in the high definition LCD segment. We will tap all sectors where this display system can be used," Sharp India Business Systems managing director T Mori said.
 
According to the company, India is witnessing a phenomenal growth in display business.
 
"The Indian market for display systems is currently estimated to be around Rs 400 crore. It is expected to cross the Rs 1,000-crore mark by year 2010. We intend to gain at least 10 per cent of the market share in the coming years," Shark Business Systems chief executive SS Sinha stated.
